The ‘Wild
Flowers’ book was a project I started in 1997. I wanted to write a story to
inspire some paintings and ended up with 15 pages of story to match 15
paintings. The idea was that one day I would exhibit the paintings with the
page of story projected next to them the same size. But, of course, this never
happened.
The story is a
very strange hypnotic, soul searching, fantasy story that isn’t really much of
a story. I was reading books about NLP and hypnosis at this time and
wanted a story that used these sub-conscious links to create a richer
experience. I have no idea if it worked or why I thought I could do this but in
the spirit of the thing I gave it a damn good go.
You may or may
not like it, either way I’m not too bothered, I quite like it, some bits make
me cringe, some bits are quite cool and some bits are just plain weird. Anyway
here it is - Wild Flowers - An innocent tale of a young couple’s pursuit and
fulfilment of their own personal vision.
